Resident in Counseling
Olivia received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Longwood University. She graduated from her Master’s program with a 3.912 GPA and was a part of the International Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society. She interned with At-Risk elementary and middle school students and has worked in a behavioral rehabilitations center as well as private practice. She is currently a Resident in Counseling under the supervision of Dr. Preston-Josey. Olivia has experience working with people of all ages and is excited to work with children and the LGBTQIA+ community. She is open to working in several areas of challenge with her clients and emphasizes the importance of a healthy relationship between herself and her clients. Whether it be Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Trauma, or PTSD – she believes that people of all ages deserve to feel accepted, cared for, validated, and have a safe space to explore who they are and get to know themselves better. She will go beyond the surface level to help her clients process and progress therapeutically. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and play therapy and will use creative counseling techniques to engage and assist diverse needs.
